It is possible to win a pot by making a bet that no other player makes, but it is rare.

Poker can be played with any number of players, but the ideal number is six to eight. The number of cards in the deck varies depending on the type of poker, and may be as few as one, or as many as fifty. The value of the cards in the poker deck is also variable, depending on the rules of the particular poker game.
